Wearable Tech – How Secure is Your Data?

Symantec, the global leader in CyberSecurity, penned a whitepaper discussing the security holes that using “wearable tech”, like a Fitbit, MapMyRun, etc. can leave users vulnerable to.  These devices are designed to be user-friendly, but not necessarily secure.  A compromised device could allow a wearer to be tracked by the low frequency Bluetooth signal it emits.  Symantec easily built a handheld tracker device for under $100 that successfully tracked individuals without their knowledge.

Protect yourself by learning more about your devices, what data they track, and what security measures the manufacturers have built-in.
