CTComp has recently learned that HP on August 26, 2014 recalled 6 million power cords sold between September 2010 and June 2012 with some HP and Compaq notebook computers, as well as certain docking stations. The issue is the cords can overheat and catch fire. Potentially affected power cords can be identified by a molded mark on the adapter end of the power cord. The molded mark will be “LS-15”.
HP has this website for you to determine if the cord is recalled. We recommend you share this with your users and check the cords. http://h30652.www3.hp.com/
